    Dear ALL!

I was privileged to take part in person in the recent aptera.solar meetup for the European Aptera fans, investors and reservation holders. The meeting, as well known, took place on May 4th, in Fulda city, Germany. It was a great experience meeting other Aptera fans for the first ever. The organizers went out of their way to ensure that everything went as planned and that everybody was comfortable and at home. Michael Streiner was particularly helpful. Seeing that I was the only English speaking person in the meeting, he immediately took it upon himself to make me comfortable. He stayed with me throughout the meeting translating everything to me in real time, including the official sessions, and zoom calls. I thank him from the bottom of my heart. I thank all involved for their open-hearted hospitality. Particularly, a big shout out to Jo who generously provided his company's premises for the event.

On a personal note, I have been late in making this post because the trip to Fulda was particularly tasking for me, especially the return trip. For those who may not know, I did the trip by road from Greece. I went by boat to Italy from Greece, then from there through Switzerland to Germany. But my return trip was entirely by road through 5 European countries: Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and the Republic of Northern Macedonia, a total of 2,500 km! The return trip was so tiring that I have been recovering for the effects since then. I had forgotten that I was no longer young to be embarking on such adventures. But I needed the experience and I thank God I made it.

I wish everybody a Happy Weekend and Happy New Month as we patiently await our Apterae :aptera: <3

Was meint ihr dazu?

If any of you could ask my question in Fulda: since the body is made in Italy, would it make sense to assemble the vehicle here for the European region to reduce the large shipping and transportation distances to save costs and help the environment? What do you think?

Aptera has plans of building small regional assembly plants in various places outside the US to facilitate deliveries of the vehicle all over the world. I suppose a European factory will be one of the earliest and easiest to be built. They already have substantial portions of the vehicle produced on the European continent (body, frame, and suspension in Italy, and in wheel motors in Slovenia). Yes, European factory will be built, but not any time soon.

Thanks a lot Merlin. Your link was extremely helpful. I found the European law I was looking for there in the Greek language and spent the last three hours almost pouring through the whole boring and technical, bureaucratic, jargon! But thanks goodness, I got a ton of information on the questions I had, and lots more. Thanks again! :prost:

This one alllll the way at the top here. :)

I also updated the second post here with some answers to questions some raised during registration. As more are registering, we will keep updating the first two "official" posts.

    Good agenda.

Are we permitted to guess on who the surprise guest could be? :D

    Dear ALL,

I have an important issue. Because I am interested in finding out the official situation here in Greece regarding importing the Aptera to Greece, I went to the regional ministry of Transportation responsible for importing cars, to inquire about it. They told me that that they were unaware of how to import vehicles that are were homologated by the EU. When I told them that EU regulations made provisions for member countries to grant exceptions for imports of non homologated vehicles for personal use as long as it was not for commercial purposes, they said they were unaware of such a regulation. They however told me that if I could show them the relative EU regulation, or law, that granted such exemptions, they would be glad to look into my case.

My question is this: Is there actually such an EU regulation (I have heard that there is). So if yes, can anybody point me to the regulation or provide me with the necessary reference (law, article, section, etc.)? Thanks, ALL, for your inputs.

S/P: I want to have this information handy when I come to our meeting in May so we can brainstorm on it. I would also suggest that all participating European countries try to find out the situation of things in their individual countries so we can compare situations and brainstorm together for our common good. Maybe one country's more favourable situation could be used to the advantage of the less favoured countries.

Where is the thread where you have the updated information of the meeting? I couldn't find it. If you are referring to the one you had several months ago, I have seen that one.

    Hello ALL!

Is there anything new on the May 4th meeting in Fulda, like details of the meetings, agenda, time, attendees, etc.? Are there arrangements for guests coming from all over Europe, like lodging (affordable hotels for those of us who have to sleep over before departure), feeding, etc. I personally will be driving over from Greece and would want some help in lodging arrangements for two nights. Thanks.

Okay, pretty clear now. So if someone posts in German without translation I can auto-translate his post and then reply back in English without translating my reply back to German. Is that right?

    Admin,

I didn't understand your comment. You wrote:

    //1) choose right thread topic

    2) file in your lanuage with or without translation, but then please also continue in follows. Or edit.//

How do I choose the right (English) thread? I thought I was at the right thread because this thread so far has been bilingual. If not, who has been doing the translation? I have never done any myself.

How do I file in my language? I think I have once chosen the English language but now I cannot find the relative tab. I don't remember from where I made the selection.

If you say it is my duty to use an AI to make translations, so how do I respond to comments? First translate them, then post the translated comment, then reply, then re-translate my reply back to German, and then make my final posting? That doesn't seem to be a smart way of taking part in a group conversation if that is what I am required to do.

Please provide clear and step by step instructions on how to solve this issue, if possible screenshots of where the tabs are located.

Has this already been discussed: if the "nock nock" knock on the bodywork doesn't work, how do I get into the car? Is there a hidden emergency release with a key or a cable? Does anyone know about this?

The "knock Knock" system may or may not make it to production. The car has been designed to open through a phone app, and/or a card you carry in your wallet. There is however a hidden emergency release cable as you aptly suggested, but this is from the inside of the vehicle to afford you a quick and safe exit in case of any emergency or screen dysfunction.

Modellen.

I would like to see the following points, which will certainly still need to be discussed.

    - Simplification of homologation or registration of first vehicles Launch Edition, reducing time and costs by a tenth. It must not be the case that the bureaucracy deliberately drives up these costs, that is not helpful at all, quite the opposite, I would like to see simplified registration for the Launch Edition throughout Europe.

    - How does Aptera show from the outside that I am still charging, for example, I still have 10/15 minutes to charge to 80/100%? So that the next person can see when the charging station is free?

    - I could imagine a green light strip at the front, similar to the Rivian models.

I think it has been suggested that the Go Glow Aptera badge by the side pillars could serve that role.

Looking at accelerator leader board, there are still over 500 slots left. I also see there are currently 10 investments from DE.

I'd prefer to wait for 1000mi edition but with the current timelines I'm not sure if my current 18 year old car will survive till then. So I'm also considering throwing $10k into the accelerator pot to get my Aptera early.

Now ... do we know these 10 guys from DE? Is there a way to get together and share the transportation from California, import and homologation here? If yes, then I'll go for launch edition, otherwise I'll wait.

    Hello j.pecar

Just saw your post. I hope you finally made it into the Accelerator Program (AP) before it closed. I have also recently made the same suggestion as you made about our bunching together and importing our LE Apterae to the EU as a group. I hope this prospect is seriously discussed in the up coming May 4th get together. I am in Greece.

Hallo zusammen, mich würde es interessieren ob der Aptera auch ein Dashcam System beziehungsweise ein Security System bekommt wie es bei Tesla in Gebrauch ist?

Hello everyone, I would be interested to know if the Aptera will also get a dashcam system or a security system like the one used by Tesla?

To the best of my knowledge, dashcam, no. Security system like a sentry camera, not sure.

    Ambassador Group

The first bullet of my post referred to creating an Accelerators subgroup, not an Ambassadors subgroup as captioned above. I am not sure if that was what you meant to say. I am assuming that was what you wanted to say. In any case, the idea of forming forming an Aptera Ambassador's European subgroup really sounds great to me if such a group doesn't exist yet. I would be glad to play a leading role in such a group if there is need. That will certainly be a good place to discuss issues of all kinds especially since the Ambassadors have a somewhat more direct access to the Aptera management.

    Tour of CPC

I am not sure I understood what you meant by that "mass mailing Aptera asking for a tour of CPC would rather hurt our relations with them." Why would such a move hurt? Of course I didn't say mass mailing them, as in all of us sending individual mails, but our sending them an official mail on behalf of the group petitioning them politely for such a visit. If, for whatever reasons, such a visit is not advisable, they can just reject it as politely as we requested it. No qualms, no harm! Why should such a request hurt our relationship with them?

As regards CPC's confidentiality problem, of course we are aware of that. By the way, we will not be making a tour of their facility, but strictly of Aptera BinC. We can sign any non-disclosure agreement they want. Even Aptera themselves may require such an agreement from us since they too may have things they mightn't want us to disclose to the public. So, I believe we can still discuss this issue. I am even planning to request such a visit as an individual from Aptera since I am only a hop across the Adriatic sea to Modena, Italy, from Patras, Greece, where I reside. But I feel that asking as an official group gives us greater chance of success. Anyway, thank you for your detailed reply.

Looking forward to more deliberations on these and other issues.

Congratulations for your good jobs and efforts in putting together a Euro-centric Aptera Group and site. I would want to address two issues:

1). Is it possible for all European Accelerators to form an Aptera subgroup which will have the aim of organising a joint importation of our Apterae to the EU once they are produced? This would be include taking all the necessary steps to secure exemptions from all homologation requirements where such exemptions are are permitted by the law.

2). I would suggest that all European Aptera investors, reservation holders, and fans, make an official request to Aptera Motors to arrange an organised tour of CPC for us to see first hand the Aptera PI build once it is completed, before it is shipped to the US.

Thanking you all for your attention.
